Pure Mode
What is Pure Mode, and what is the difference between Pure Mode 1 and 2?
- In FiveM, Pure Mode (sv_pureLevel) is a server-side setting designed to block players from using modified client-side GTA V files (.rpf files) and third-party mods. It is mainly used to prevent exploits, clear-vision packs, and unfair advantages. -
Pure Mode 1 (The chill guy):
This mode lets you keep your custom sound packs and popular graphics upgrades so your game looks and sounds pretty. However, it completely blocks any "cheat" mods, like files that make walls see-through or change how guns shoot. It’s the perfect middle ground for most roleplay servers.
Pure Mode 2 (The strict military guy):
This mode says "absolutely nothing extra allowed." It strips away everything you’ve personally installed; all your custom graphics, audio packs, and visual tweaks. It forces your game to be 100% vanilla, exactly how it looked when you first bought GTA V. Servers usually use this for hardcore competitive matches or to stop stubborn cheaters.
Force FiveM to launch in pure mode:
Step 1: Edit your FiveM Shortcut
Find your usual FiveM shortcut icon on your desktop.
Right-click it and select Properties (at the very bottom of the menu).
Step 2: Add the Launch Command
In the window that pops up, look for the box labeled Target. It will show a long file path ending in
FiveM.exe".Click inside that box, go to the very end of the text, press the Spacebar once, and type
-pure_1.
Crucial Detail: Make sure there is a space before the hyphen, otherwise Windows will give you an error. It should look like this at the end:
... \FiveM.exe" -pure_1
Step 3: Save and Launch
Click Apply and then OK at the bottom.
Double-click your shortcut to open FiveM.
